🐮 💜 CURRENT TURNAROUND IS 6-8 WEEKS FOR ALL ORDERS 💜🐮

FAQs

Hi! Welcome to the FAQ page for MyPoorPurse, I hope you find all the information you're after but if not pop over to the 'Contact Us' page and drop us an email.

How do I make an order?
All orders are taken through this website! As almost everything is made to order by myself I can only take on a certain amount of orders each month and once I hit capacity items will be marked as sold out. If you can give the shop a follow on instagram where I will announce each store opening date so you don't miss out!

Do you take custom orders?
Yes! There is a separate page on this site about custom orders, just pop over and give it a read and then if it’s something you’re after just send me an email and we can get started on designing your dream custom.

How quick is the turnaround time once I order?
This depends completely on what you order, most made to order items will be made and sent out within 6-8 weeks after ordering, orders may be shipped out earlier than this but never longer than 8 weeks.
If you order anything from the Zero Waste Shop it will be shipped out on the next working day as everything there is ready to ship!
If you need an item by a particular date let me know and I will try my best to work around that for you but the earlier you order the better!

Where in the world do you ship?
I ship worldwide! I will continue to ship to the EU, however any customs/tax fees are out of my control and the customer is responsible for paying these charges. With Brexit these charges may change or go up in cost but is unfortunately out of my control.
Once shipped you will receive an email with any tracking info, once the item has been shipped it is out of my hands and I cannot take any responsibility for how long it may take to arrive or if it is lost in transit.
If you do have any issues please send me a message asap and I will see if there is anything I can do to help.

Do you stock petite/tall/plus size products?
All items in store are available in sizes 6-30, I don't do specific items for petite or tall people but if you ever need anything made shorter or longer due to your height just leave a note whilst checking out and I will make the adjustments needed.

What fabrics do you stock?
All the fabrics you currently see in store are what I can order in to make the garments. Occasionally I will get hold of deadstock fabrics or sample pieces that I use to make one offs and limited edition pieces, if you give us a follow over on Instagram you’ll be able to keep up to date with any new fabrics I might get in stock. You can also send in your own fabrics to be made into garments if you wish, you will need to send me a message first so we can check that what you have will work with the design you want but I will do my best to make it work.

Do you accept exchanges/refunds?
Unfortunately not, as all items are made to order and made for you I don't accept any exchanges or refunds. Please make sure before ordering to check all of the size guides for whatever you are purchasing so you can make sure you're buying the right size for you.

Do you offer any alterations if something isn't quite right?
Of course! I will always be on hand to help with any measurements before ordering to make sure what you order is perfect but sometimes something might be slightly too big/small. If this is the case just head over to the contact us page and send me an email within 14 days of you receiving the order.
All alterations will charged dependent on what needs doing to cover the cost for any new fabrics and for my time, this will be discussed and paid for before any alterations take place. The customer will also need to pay for the return postage of their choice, I recommend Royal Mail tracked.

How do I care for my garments?
All orders will come with a care card telling you how to look after your garments. I recommend either handwashing or machine washing on a 30/40 degree celsius cycle for all fabrics to prevent shrinkage. Please do not tumble dry any of the items, simply hang to dry, its better for the planet and saves on ironing! If you have any of the two tone items with a dark side and light side I recommend using a colour catcher when washing to avoid any possible colour transfer. Whilst all garments are made with alot of care please treat them kindly, they are still handmade and I want them to last you a lifetime.

What material are the garments made from?
It depends on which product you buy but most items in store are made from either 100% cotton, a polyviscose blend or a poly cotton blend. It will listed in product description for every product so please read before purchasing if you require a particular type of material.

How eco/sustainable is your store?
As a small business it is important to me to be as sustainable as possible. Almost everything in store is made to order which means I only order the fabric needed to save on waste and space, any offcuts and scraps are then either used to make items in the Zero Waste Shop or sent on to other creators to use up.
All packaging used is completely recyclable and if you want you can reuse the boxes your order is sent in, just simply peel of the paper tape and stickers and you're good to go!

Are the workers for your store paid a fair wage?
Currently it is only me working behind the scenes but yes, I pay myself a living wage and try my hardest to make sure i'm not overworking myself each week (although I can't promise there won't be the odd late night)
One day I will expand the store and take on more staff, when that time comes I will make sure to adjust any prices in store to make sure that all my employees can also be a living wage.
